What to Expect When You Visit the ER
You have questions. Our compassionate ER team is here to provide the answers. As you voice your concerns, we’re ready to support you, giving you the facts you need to understand both your condition and your care. We’ll have some questions for you, too, because the more we know, the more safely and quickly we can serve you. For starters, we’ll ask for basic information like your medical history and the reason for your visit. After checking your vital signs, our emergency medical team will decide how to bring you relief in the swiftest, safest way possible.
At AdventHealth Hendersonville, we use a process known as triage, so our Hendersonville ER team can prioritize care for those who need it most. Sometimes, this means treating a later-arriving person suffering from a life-threatening condition before someone with a less critical issue. We always strive to keep emergency room wait times as short as possible, so you can get the help you need quickly. When your whole-person wellness hangs on every second, count on us to provide the emergency medical care you need.
To help minimize your stress, you may want to consider keeping an information card with you at all times, perhaps in your wallet or purse. Include the name and number of your primary care physician, a list of your medications and drug allergies, and any advance directives we should know about (like health care proxy or power of attorney). Knowing all the facts, we’re better equipped to help you start healing.
